Operator

MATI Energy is currently looking for a team player to fill the position of Operator I. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating both the packaging of MATI beverages and the ongoing cleaning and sanitation procedures at the production facility. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for assisting with the activities of the Production Department and monitoring procedures and standards to achieve consistently high quality products produced in an efficient manner.
  • Actively maintain a food safe environment through compliance with all requirements in Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Quality, Workplace Safety, Integrated Process Management (IPM), Occupational Safety Health Act (OSHA), Environmental Standards and policies/programs as may be required by Plant, Company, Local, State and/or Federal mandates or programs.
  • Handle startup and shut down duties pertaining to packaging equipment at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Ensure that each packaging machine is in good repair and works in accordance to regulations set by the company, and perform regular and preventative maintenance on packaging machines to ensure optimum work cycles.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area by ensuring that floors are clean and organized appropriately.
  • Responsible for packaging integrity and quality checks on each packaging order.
  • Stack packaged items in storage areas or on delivery pallets using jack pallets or forklifts
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining an adequate supply of necessary cleaning chemicals.
  • Coordinates the completion of all sanitation as required by master sanitation schedule and/or end of week sanitation activities.
  • Implements new methods, procedures, and systems to improve quality and food safety performance. Determines and implements corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist with other activities in the Production department as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in food and/or beverage manufacturing preferred.
  • A strong knowledge of sanitation procedures.
  • The ability to work as a self-starter, managing your own time effectively.
  • Pragmatic optimist and team player.

  • Must participate in internal food safety training and demonstrate proficiency within first 90 days.
  • Must have current forklift certification (or pass certification within 3 months of hire).
  • Meets physical requirements outlined below.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand for sustained periods of time, up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to frequently move/transport product weighing up to 50 pounds across facility.
  • Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend ladders, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned and or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
  • Must be able to work in environment that may be subject to hazards, including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, working on stairs and high places, exposure to high heat and exposure to chemicals.
