Operator I

MATI Energy is currently looking for a team player to fill the position of Operator I. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating both the packaging of MATI beverages and the ongoing cleaning and sanitation procedures at the production facility. We will provide training to the right person who can demonstrate motivation and a willingness to learn. This is a full-time, hourly position with a rate of $10 per hour.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle startup and shut down duties pertaining to packaging equipment at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Make-certain that each packaging machine is in good repair and works in accordance to regulations set by the company.
  • Perform regular and preventative maintenance on packaging machines to ensure optimum work cycles.
  • Responsible for packaging integrity and quality checks on each packaging order.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area by ensuring that floors are clean and organized appropriately.
  • Assist Production Manager in developing SOPs for areas of responsibility.
  • Stack packaged items in storage areas or on delivery pallets using jack pallets or forklifts
  • Create reports regarding packaged products as guided by Production Manager.
  • Implements all GMP and HACCP procedures that relate to cleanliness and food safety within the facility.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining an adequate supply of necessary cleaning chemicals.
  • Implements new methods, procedures, and systems to improve quality and food safety performance. Determines and implements corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinates the completion of all sanitation as required by master sanitation schedule and/or end of week sanitation activities.
  • Assist with other activities in the Production department as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in food and/or beverage manufacturing preferred.
  • A strong knowledge of sanitation procedures.
  • The ability to work as a self-starter, managing your own time effectively.
  • Pragmatic optimist and team player.

  • Must participate in internal food safety training and demonstrate proficiency within first 90 days.
  • Must have current forklift certification (or pass certification within 3 months of hire). 
  • Meets physical requirements outlined below.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand for sustained periods of time, up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to frequently move/transport product weighing up to 50 pounds across facility. 
  • Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend ladders, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Must have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned and or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
  • Must be able to work in environment that may be subject to hazards, including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, working on stairs and high places, exposure to high heat and exposure to chemicals.

  • Satisfactory results of background check and E-Verify.
